Good Design That Kills

Not all design is a force for good.

Mikhail Kalashnikov didn’t get rich from the huge success of his rifle, since he didn’t hold a patent. (That sort of thing was simply not done by citizens who labored for Soviet socialism.) He has been quoted saying that he would have preferred to create a good lawnmower, and blamed the Nazis for making him invent a weapon.
